Our goal in building a platform for digital word of mouth is to create a way for regular customers to grow an audience FOR the business (you local businesses have enough things on your plate already). With that in mind, there are a few quick things that business teams can do to jumpstart the process and make it even more efficient for customers to do so. See below for 5 quick tips and tricks to boost the number of people joining your Herd.

Pro Tips:

  1. Strategically place invite links — What’s cool about our invite links is that anyone who downloads Locasaur from one will be automatically added to your Herd. So, the more opportunities that customers have to run across these links, the better! They can be added to websites, newsletter footers, social media profiles, or even turned into QR codes to scan in-store (if that last one is exciting to you, let us know, we can deliver that to you).
  2. Add a perk when sending invites and reward folks who expand your Herd — Invites sent via SMS or Email have the option to include a welcome perk for the customer who downloads. This is a nice way to entice a new customer to join your crowd. It’s up to you as a business to reward customers who are repeatedly adding other folks to your Herd, chances are they’ll be happy to do so regardless if they’re a regular, but it might be a nice way to show your appreciation.
  3. Encourage people to invite their friends when they join — Your customers can invite folks they know into your Herd right from their app. Businesses get notified when new customers join, and you’ll see who referred them too. Locasaur will prompt you to say hi to new customers, and it might pay to take this opportunity to invite them to bring their friends into your Locasaur Herd too, especially if said customer has just had a great in-person experience with you.
  4. Personalize invites to the customer and welcome them in — Invites sent via SMS and Email are automatically personalized with the name of the person doing the inviting, but shared links can be customized further. Consider altering the text to include a short, personalized note just for the customer. After a customer joins, send them a welcome note! Let them know you’re happy they joined, what they can expect to hear from you, and if you’d like them to invite friends too. All this can be made super efficient with our welcome templates.
  5. Send to a list of customers — If you have a list of customers from a newsletter or in a specific program that your business runs we can work with you to send a customized mass invite to that list. This will save you from entering a ton of phone numbers or emails and add a further personalized touch as well.

Links auto-add customers to your Herd, so the more opportunities a customer has to come across them the better. The more personalized the invites, the more customers are likely to accept, and a perk or two here and there never hurt! Do today:

  • Create a custom welcome message template for new Herd members, inviting them to add friends.
