“Attackers Guild of India” issues statement, strongly condemns Editors Guild for condemning attacks on journalists
The Attackers Guild of India (AGI) has issued a statement, strongly condemning the Editors Guild of India, for having condemned attacks on journalists by attackers.
Speaking exclusively to The UnReal Times correspondent Nira Dutt, an angry AGI president Gunda Shankar screamed, “Who the hell do they think they are? They think they alone have the right to go around issuing statements of condemnation every other day! Well, guess what?! The Attackers Guild of India now issues this statement, strongly condemning the Editors Guild. Take that, EGI!” before publishing this statement:
Attackers Guild of India (AGI)
April 26th, 2020
The Attackers Guild of India is a premier, non-partisan association of journalist attackers in India. We have members from all political parties as well as media houses, who put all differences aside and unite to attack journalists they have problems with. We are committed to condemnation-free, fair and independent attacks on journalism.
The Attackers Guild of India strongly condemns the condemnation of the attack on a journalist, by the Editors Guild of India. An attack is an attack and thus, should not elicit exclusive condemnation from any dedicated group.
Our guild asks the Editors Guild to desist from doing such “time pass” by issuing such templated condemnations and instead, pursue more useful and serious endeavours, failing which our guild will be compelled to keep counter-condemning each of their condemnations proportionately.
President — Gunda Shankar
Secretary — Bulla
Treasurer — Lambu Atta
According to sources, The Editors Guild of India is in a fix as to what to do. “Damn. Ever since we’ve come into existence, the only thing we’ve done is issued condemnations one after the other, which we haven’t received even out-of-office replies for! This is a first. How do we handle this? I’m truly clueless!” a worried EGI president Shekhar Gupta is supposed to have said.
