Emraan Hashmi rejects movie based on Corona outbreak, says can’t kiss with masks on
Even as rumor mills are on overdrive about Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s next movie being titled ‘Lockdown’, based on the ongoing Corona virus outbreak, actor Emraan Hashmi has broken his silence on the subject, confirming that he was offered a role and had no choice but to deny it.
“The reason is very simple — how am I to kiss my heroine, when both of us would be wearing masks? I’m a social intimacy guy, man. This social distancing stuff isn’t for me,” explained the ‘serial kisser’, to The UnReal Times Bollywood correspondent Mess Malignee.
Emraan’s revelation, however, triggered a wave of reactions from across Bollywood. Director Anurag Kashyap lashed out at the film crew and the industry itself. “This is Modi’s India. Only those who exhibit Hindu nationalism will be given substantial roles in films. If you are secular, like Emraan, you’re doomed. Today is truly a Black Friday in the history of Fridays. Even Friday the 13th isn’t this sinister!” tweeted the controversial director.
While the PM hasn’t responded to Kashyap’s allegation, his reel-life avatar did try to hit back. “Had this guy directed my movie on PM Modi, my role would’ve been even more menacing than that of the Joker’s, or let’s just say, more than that of my earlier role in Krrish3 :) ” tweeted actor Viveik Oberoi, before witnessing a collective sigh from Modi supporters all over.
Emraan, however, received support from Kamaal R Khan, who promised to offer him a meaty role, whenever he made Deshdrohi 3. “Emraan is lucky that he is not doing a 2 Rs Corona movie,” KRK said.
