A day after Switzerland projected the tricolor on the Swiss Alps in a display of solidarity with the nation, the Indian government reciprocated, by projecting the smiling visage of actor Arbaaz Khan, on the peak of the Kanchenjunga.

The Swiss officials strongly emphasized the rigidity of Indo-Swiss ties. “We have always been banking on Indians who bank with us, and it was a gesture of thanks on our part. But to see India feel the same and celebrating their Roger Federer on their mountain, felt unbelievable,” one such official said.

The Swiss gesture had triggered diverse responses from across the country. While BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya hailed the gesture as tantamount to a giant victory of PM Modi’s diplomacy, BJP MP Dr. Subramanian Swamy slammed the government. “If the FinMin were really serious, the Swiss would’ve projected the Swiss bank account details of Indians on the Alps instead” the anti-corruption crusader tweeted.

“This made me say cheese :) and immediately eat some Swiss cheese too!” tweeted Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari, in the meanwhile.

Responses poured in from Bollywood too. “Just like how Aamir Khan made the Phogat sisters famous, it was Yash Chopra who made the Alps famous. Even they know that!” tweeted a Bollywood actor. “And it was quite thoughtful of the government to project a Bollywood face on our pride, that is the Kanchenjunga!”

Journalists too, were among the ones to shower praise on the picturesque photo. “Swiss laps you beauty!” tweeted SatyaHindi edtior and former AAP politician, The Ashutosh.
