Hydra Public Testnet Launches → Join the Bounty!
Things are moving fast — and we want you to be part of it! We just launched the public testnet of the Hydra chain and now we invite you to join us in testing it!
Why should you join?
We are about to launch Hydra mainnet in the coming weeks and as a result we will soon be asking you to swap your LOC from Ethereum to Hydra. A detailed guide on how to do this will be shared at that time and we promise that it won’t be difficult.
It is always good to gain some experience with the new chain before transferring your real assets onto it. A testnet is the perfect opportunity to play around and get yourself familiar with the working dynamics at no risk. How does staking work? How do transactions look like on the Hydra blockchain? How to backup your wallet? It is always good to learn about these on a testnet environment, where nothing can go wrong.
In addition to this, you will help us test the network with truly decentralized nodes around the globe. As a sign of gratitude, we will be rewarding testnet participants with 40 LOC each.
How to join?
Joining is pretty easy. Just follow the four steps below.
Step 1: Download and install the Hydra wallet
Simply follow the guides below.
The wallet for MacOS is not available yet. We will release a guide for it as soon as its wallet version is ready for download.
Step 2: Request HYDRA Coins
Before you can actually do anything on the testnet, you will need HYDRA coins. Luckily, getting some is as easy as entering your testnet wallet address in the faucet below:

You should be receiving your wallet with the next 1–2 blocks (could take around 5 minutes).
Step 3: Stake your Coins
Once your HYDRA have arrived in your wallet, they will start maturing. If they are kept in the wallet untouched for 500 block confirmation, they will become mature and will be ready for staking.

Step 4: Fill the Participation Form
In order to receive the 40 LOC reward, please fill the form below:

To ensure tracability, please deactivate the “change address” feature in your wallet settings. Otherwise we may not be able to verify your contribution.
Settings >> Options >> Wallet >> uncheck “Use change address”
For command line users, start the wallet with an additional:
-usechangeaddress=0
To participate in the bounty, your wallet needs to be actively staking. The bounty will be concluded with the launch of the mainnet, or with an announcement made earlier. Important: Only 1 submission per person is allowed.
