LockTrip Affiliate League Trial Goes LIVE with a $24,000 Prize Pool!
We are proud to announce that the much-anticipated Affiliate League was deployed on the marketplace and the trial season is scheduled to go live on the 1st of June!
With this major milestone, we are adding one more powerful tool to the arsenal of our affiliates. Together with the custom landing pages, discount codes, gift cards and the referral link generator, affiliates now have access to a vast tool set and various incentive structures to promote the LockTrip marketplace.

Every season lasts for two months and comes with a $24,000 prize pool.
Note: The trial season will last for three months instead of the regular two month period!

Note that these prizes are on top of your regular affiliate commission, which is 3% of all referred bookings, for a lifetime!

You can improve your chances of ranking high, by joining an affiliate team. More info on that is shared further below.
🥇 Score Calculation for the League Ranking
Your score for the league ranking is calculated based on your referred booking value. For every $1 in bookings you refer, you will earn 1 point. Hence a $300 booking referred will yield you 300 points. The sum of all bookings make up your total score in the ranking.
There are however certain limits, which are in place to ensure fairness among all participants. For example there is a cap regarding how many points a single referral can yield you. For your first paying referral, that cap is set to 1,000 points. Meaning that even if that referral makes a booking for 1,500 USD, it will only contribute 1,000 points to your score.
As the number of paying referrals grows, the cap per referral grows with it (at a rate of 50 points per paying referral). In the example below you will see how the cap increased to 1,150 due to the 4 paying referrals:
As seen from the screenshot above, the league dashboard makes the calculation in real-time for you and displays all the data in an easy to understand format.

🏆 Your League Level
Aside from the rank-based financial rewards, there are useful perks that you can unlock by competing with yourself. With every league season, you have the chance to up your league level. The level is calculated based on the following criteria:
Note that only referrals who made at least one booking contribute to this count. If you have 4 paying referrals, then your league level will increase to level 3, as shown in the example below:
In the screenshot you will also notice that three more referrals are needed for the next level.
The higher your league level is, the stronger your perks will be in the next season. There are three main perks:
- Grow the revenue you receive from level 2 bookings (from 0.1% up to 0.6%)
- Get a discount when purchasing gift cards (from 0% up to 15%)
- Increase the duration of your referral cookies (from 30 days up to 40 days)
The perks of your achieved league level will be applied to the next season. The start of every season resets the league level of all participants by two. The duration of that season (two months) can then be used to level up again, which then defines the perks for the following season.
👨👩👦 Join an Affiliate Team
Working in teams makes it easier for you to rank higher, as the achieved scores of all team members are summed up in the leaderboard.
The league dashboard will show your current participation mode, either as “SOLO” or as part of a “TEAM”. Once a season begins, individuals have 10 days to form teams. For this purpose there are two options in the interface:
- Join a team through the “View Invites” button. You will need an invitation from an existing team for this
- Create your own team via the “Create Team” button
Hint: The options will present themselves only during the first 10 days of a league season.
Once you receive an invitation, you have the option to either accept or reject it, as is shown below:
Alternatively, creating a new team is as easy as setting its name:
At first you will be the only member of your team. You now have the options to invite new members or disband your team. Please note that both of these actions are only available during the first 10 days of each season. This is to protect the competition from last-minute strategic shifts prior to the rewards calculation.
To invite a new team member, all you need to do is to enter the email address of the user. The user will then see the invitation in his league dashboard.

Once you are part of a team, you will see this overview in the league dashboard:
It shows how many points each member contributed so far, and calculates your percentage contribution to the total. This is an important calculation, since the prize you will win as a team will be shared among the team members proportionally to their individual contributions.
