MEXC Exchange Lists HYDRA & Launches New Staking Pool!
🎉 Today we are excited to announce that HYDRA coin will be listed on the MEXC Exchange!
As part of our efforts to strengthen the fundamentals of the Hydra network, we have agreed with the MEXC team to list HYDRA on their exchange. Following our liquidity strategy on other exchanges, we will be limiting the listing to a single trading pair of HYDRA/USDT.
This will consolidate all liquidity into a single order book, thus reducing slippage and improving the trading experience for our community.
Upcoming Timeline
June 30 — 11:00 UTC time (now!)
→ Deposits and Withdrawals for HYDRA are enabled. You can send your HYDRA to the MEXC exchange at present
July 2 — 11:00 UTC time
→ Order books will be enabled and users can start trading on the HYDRA/USDT exchange pair
July 5 — 11:00 UTC time
→ The HYDRA staking pool will be activated and users can start locking up their coins to pool their holdings together with other users, thus making daily payouts possible
July 6 — 11:00 UTC time
→ MEXC will launch a staking competition for a duration of two weeks. A total prize pool of ~$60,000 (2,000 HYDRA) will be distributed among stakers who participate

More Choice for the Community
Staking pools are an important component of the Hydra ecosystem, since not everyone can hold enough HYDRA to mine blocks regularly on their private nodes. Small holders pool their balances to form a combined node of larger size — thus allowing them to receive rewards more regularly.
Over the past few months, the Kucoin staking pool has proven to be a massive success. Not only has it grown the community, equipped small holders with a tool that would allow them to participate in the staking economy — it also has drawn heaps of attention towards the Hydra network.
With the addition of the MEXC staking pool, we aim to provide users additional options to choose from and introduce modest competition between the pools for optimal results.
Healthy Balance for the Network
Due to the nature of staking pools, they tend to reach substantial sizes as thousands of holders contribute to them. For this reason, it is important to have multiple staking pools that balance each other and contribute independently to the health of the network.
More pools result in better distribution of weight and higher redundancy for smaller holders. It also reduces the power that a single entity/business has over smaller holders and the network as a whole.
Marketing and Promotion
We also view exchanges as a channel to grow and strengthen the community of Hydra. Staking pools are a very efficient component to this, as they substantiate one of the core features of Hydra to a wide range of users.
