🥳 We are happy to present you the Hydra Browser Extension Wallet!

Today is a big milestone for us, as we are launching a critical component to the Hydra DEX — the wallet that allows you to make trades.

The extension wallet can be installed within a few seconds and does not need any special setup. It is ready for use instantly. Through it you will not only be able to interact with the Hydra DEX and other DeFi products, but also with any other Hydra-based DAPP interfaces including the upcoming cross-chain bridge.

If you are a developer, you can now build your own DAPPs or games directly on-chain and let people interact with them.

Important: Please be careful when connecting your wallet with third party or anonymous websites. By granting permission, you allow websites to execute transactions on your behalf (after entering your password).

Quick Introduction and Walkthrough

After installing and generating your wallet address, you will enter the app as shown in the left screen below. Make sure to write down your password and seed words on a piece of paper and store them somewhere safe.

The main wallet is your default address, but you can create as many addresses as you like. Each address will have its individual set of seed words. As you can see from the screenshot in the middle, switching between the addresses is very easy. You can name them as per your liking.

If you want to make some tests or are a developer who works on a new DAPP interface, simply switch to the testnet with a single click as shown in the right screenshot above. Note that this will require the creation of special testnet addresses, which works the same way as on mainnet (see below).

To create a new wallet address, simply click on “CREATE NEW WALLET”. This will open up the interface shown on the left side below. You now have the two options of creating a new wallet, or importing an existing one.

Creating a new one will present you a set of seed words, which you need to write down somewhere safe (mid screenshot). Alternatively you can import any of your existing wallets (from the staking client or webwallet) by using the private key or the seed words (right screenshort).

Let’s now look inside a wallet address, by selecting it. In this example we select the Main Wallet and click on “Login”. This will show you the wallet balance, as well as the options to send and receive funds.

It is also possible to see your transaction history and an overview of your tokens. The LOC token is available in the extension by default. You can add any other Hydra-based token by entering its contract address. This will auto-populate the name, symbol and decimals of the token — as shown in the screenshot to the right.

We recommend to install the extension, as you will need it to interact with the Hydra DEX.
