Avakin Life — Celebrating our Festival of Friendship
At Avakin Life we believe friendship is the bedrock of a positive in-game community for players. Which is why we’re thrilled to announce our ‘Festival of Friendship’. An in-game event designed to champion diversity, inclusivity and (of course) friendship within our Avakin community. So what exactly is the Festival of Friendship, and how can I get involved?
Each day of the festival, you’ll get the opportunity to take part in exciting in-game challenges that require mutual cooperation. Every task will award a special in game currency that you can use to unlock unique rewards. If you’re really keen, you can buy a limited edition head decoration that multiplies the events currencies. So what kind of challenges are we setting for our Avakin community during the Festival?
We’re introducing ‘community chat’ as a mechanism to promote discussion on the platform. Our community will be able to chat to one another and receive rewards by asking and answering questions. This is important because it gives our community a voice and helps them better understand each other as they talk about their interests.
We’re also introducing a new character called ‘Lockwood Granny’ who will be available on Saturdays and Sundays. She’ll be handing out two recipe cards to help you create delicious food on cook off days (from the 25th to the 28th of November). Cooking Lockwood Granny’s recipes in-game is a great way of building teamwork because each player has the same goal, to create delicious food. Helping her out by creating her recipes on cook-off day means that the food you make will be added to the festival feast table. Adding food to the table results in a generous reward!
These in-game features and challenges are important because they align with the values that underpin our Festival of Friendship. Our Avakin community brings players from all over the world together. Which is why we think giving our community a voice is so important. We hope that by setting our community challenges, we’ll help facilitate a diverse discussion in-game. In the process, we believe that members of the Avakin community will learn more about themselves and others and by doing so establish more meaningful connections with each other.
The Festival of Friendship exists to give us all a chance to embrace each other’s differences and develop new friendships. Make sure you’re on Avakin Life from Wednesday the 11th to Monday the 23rd of November so you don’t miss out!
