Recently we sat down at the Loco HQ and soaked in some of our numbers:

  • 13 million downloads
  • 791.6 years of gameplay time done
  • 500,000 concurrent players supported
  • 5.6 million referrals

The thing about numbers is that when you pay attention to them, you want to delve deeper and make sense of them. This got us thinking, what makes Loco so popular? How have we managed to grow exponentially? And beyond data, beyond the numbers, what has really made the platform work?

The answer was staring at us right in the face. It was the people playing the game.

The community we call LocoNation.

The people who use our app day in and day out, the people who wait for the clock to strike right in time for the game, the people who feel lunch breaks aren’t the same without answering a few tough questions, the people with an appetite to win, the people from small towns and the people from the big cities, THEY are the ones who make it great.

Each of them is a door to a new world. Whether it’s college students or working folks or family members, all of them have different outlooks to life and pursue different things on a daily basis.
