DRABBLE DROP | FICTION | LODESTAR GAZETTE
Behind Closed Doors
Victoria’s Gossip Guru
A Drabble is a 100-word short fictional story. You've got to ramble with words and form a nice, intriguing plot.
Word of the day: Confab
Magnum was known as the Victoria Colony’s unofficial BBC.
He would gather everyone for gossip sessions at the park.
“Why not become a proper journo instead of fading?” Apollo, his neighbour, was curious.
“Huh, look who’s jealous of me. It doesn’t matter who gets the news first.”
The circle knew who was seeing who and whose baby was born first.
“What’s new today?” Zeus, his best friend, inquired.
“I heard Mrs. Mabel is having an affair with her sister’s husband.”
This news spread like wildfire, prompting another confab.
Apollo looked at him, dismayed, as if he had committed a crime.
The story is inspired by Jessica's Quill drabble drop challenge and its associated word, “confab.”
