A Drabble is a 100-word short fictional story. You’ve got to ramble with words and form a nice, intriguing plot.

Word of the day: Tour

Trigger Warning: Death and Suicide

The tour was gruelling, with each city blending into the next.

Mina plastered a smile for her fans, but deep down, she crumbled.

“I can’t cope with fame,” she confided to Kara, her best friend and fellow K-pop idol.

Kara’s eyes displayed concern.

“You have to take care of yourself, Mina. Remember what happened to Sulli and Moonbin?”

Mina nodded, tears welling up.

The pressure to be perfect was smothering. She knew she needed a break, but the industry demanded relentless perfection.

As the lights dimmed after another show, Mina resolved to seek help before it was too late.

This story is based on real-life incidents that occurred in the South Korean entertainment industry. Many K-pop idols who were also models and actors died unexpectedly by suicide or for unknown reasons. Sulli and Moonbin were two such stars who left us in 2019 and 2023, respectively. Fame can be tough to handle, and this industry has proven that now and then. And many more have left the world who belonged to the same field.

The drabble is inspired by Jessica's Quill drabble drop challenge and its associated word “tour.”
