Update: Sorry for the infrequent posting and activity; I have a lot on at the moment, and Jess is experiencing Autistic Burnout, which is causing us a lot of stress as I/we try to keep up with our life. I will schedule Drabble Drops for next week and do it by scheduling.

Drabble Drop FAQ’s (guidelines) here.

A Drabble is a 100-word short story. Drabble Drops uses a randomly generated word as the challenge but not as a title or character name.

“Hold on tight!” shouted Gareth, gripping the dragon’s spiny back. Wings flapped, propelling them upwards. “You sure this is safe?” Jane yelled, eyes wide with terror. The dragon’s roar was their only answer. They soared above the clouds, wind whipping their faces.

Gareth laughed, exhilarated. “It’s amazing, right?” Jane’s grip tightened. “If we survive!” She glanced down, the ground a distant blur. Suddenly, the dragon dived, twisting mid-air. Jane screamed, but her fear turned to thrill. “I think I’m getting the hang of this!” she shouted, laughing.

The dragon veered left. “What now?” Gareth wondered, eyes narrowing, looking ahead.
