Drabble Drop FAQ’s (guidelines) here.

Note: Please DO NOT use the tag ‘drabble of the day’ in your drops because it’s the tag we use to keep my post at the top so everyone can find it.

A Drabble is a 100-word short story. Drabble Drops uses a randomly generated word as the challenge but not as a title or character name.

Carla was deeply engrossed in her smutty romance novel.

She was so swept up in the book that Carla missed her church’s vicar heading her way.

It also happened that the Vicar was a close friend of her very religious parents.

“Afternoon Carla!” he boomed and startled her.

She dropped the Christian magazine that disguised her real reading material.

“Vicar Paul!”

“Jumpy are we?” he chuckled until his eyes landed on her book.

The front featured a half-naked Regency couple kissing.

He reddened.

In embarrassment, Carla blurted out the first explanation she could think of.
