Ben gave his wife a peeved look, angered she’d blocked his exit to head down to the pub for the football.

Jane was unmoved as she struggled to wrangle their toddler twins while balancing her unwieldy baby bump. Which at eight months pregnant was no easy feat.

“You could at least try to help me!”

Ben rolled his eyes. “Bloody hell, I’ve been working all week, Jane. You’ve never had a problem before!”

“Maybe because you magically go deaf!” Jane shouted.

Ben pretended not to hear her.

It was harder to ignore the divorce papers that arrived a day later.
