DRABBLE DROP | FICTION | LODESTAR GAZETTE
Promposal Perseverance
Unspoken words, unforgettable moments
A Drabble is a 100-word short fictional story. Neither less nor more than that, packed with hidden messages with the word of the day.
Word of the day: Harm
Everyone was getting ready for prom at Rosewood College.
The announcement a week earlier excited Matt.
“Hmm, someone is pumped up, huh?” Ron joked and asked about his plans.
“I mean, how should I ask Esther?” He said it in confusion.
Every boy wanted to dance with her, and some were already wooing her.
“You can do it, Matt. There’s no harm in trying,” Ron assured him.
It took some time, but Matt eventually asked Esther to the prom.
“Why didn’t you ask me before?” She questioned him.
Matt avoided answering because he was nervous, but Esther understood his hint.
The story is inspired by Jessica's Quill drabble drop and the associated word “harm.”
