DRABBLE DRABBLE DROP | FICTION | LODESTAR GAZETTE
Pulse of the Polls
Charting a course amidst political turbulence
A Drabble is a 100-word short fictional story. You’ve got to ramble with words and form a nice, intriguing plot.
Word of the day: Constituency
In the hazy afternoon light, Senator Jacobs paced his office, his fingers drumming on the mahogany desk.
“The constituency’s not thrilled with the tax bill,” his aide murmured, frowning at the latest poll numbers.
He sighed, his mind racing. “We need a new approach. What do they want to hear?”
“They’re focused on healthcare and education funding,” the aide replied, tapping her tablet. “Plus, the environmental group’s pushing hard on the climate stance.”
Jacobs nodded thoughtfully. “Let’s set up a town hall. I’ll address their concerns directly.”
With resolve, he picked up the phone, ready to reconnect with his voters.
The drabble is inspired by CJ Coop's drabble drop challenge and its associated word “constituency.”
