DRABBLE DROP | FICTION | LODESTAR GAZETTE
The Scent of Solace
Finding peace and purpose in a beloved bakery
A Drabble is a 100-word short fictional story. You’ve got to ramble with words and form a nice, intriguing plot.
Word of the day: Snatch
Ayesha was a famous baker who lived in Greece with her younger brother, Omar, and their pet dog, Coco.
Her bakery, Delphi Delights, was a delectable haven for people of all ages and groups.
“I wish you were here, Mom and Dad, to watch both of us learn and grow,” she whispered, her voice trembling as she stared at their family pictures.
Coco nuzzled against her, offering silent comfort as the aroma of freshly baked pastries filled the room.
Omar hugged her tightly.
“Our happiness was snatched away too soon, but we have a reason to live,” he said softly.
The story is inspired by Jessica's Quill drabble drop challenge and its associated word, “snatch.”
