Tides of Comfort
Nature’s balm for the heavy heart
A Drabble is a 100-word short fictional story. You’ve got to ramble with words and form a nice, intriguing plot.
Word of the day: Salve
As the sun dipped behind the horizon, casting a warm glow over the beach, Alizeh watched the waves lapping against the shore.
She sighed, feeling the world’s weight on her shoulders.
“Long day?” A voice interrupted her thoughts. It was Jack, a local fisherman.
Alizeh nodded, offering a tired smile. “Yeah, it’s been one of those days.”
He handed her a seashell that he had found earlier.
“Here, a little salve for the heart. Sometimes nature’s beauty is the best remedy.”
She held it, feeling a surge of calm wash over her.
“Thanks, Jack. You know how to improve things.”
The story is inspired by CJ Coop's drabble drop challenge and its associated word, “salve.”
