A Glimpse of the Sea
Standing on a bluff
Feeling the cold wind, the fresh sea breeze
Do you see it? Do you feel it? No?
Close your eyes.
Imagine the great blue waves crested with white,
Crashing against the shore.
The green plants that float gently on the surface,
the seals that drift lazily by.
Do you see it now?
The mist gliding over the bluff,
sifting slowly through the pines.
Do you feel the cold pebbles under your feet,
or the soft sand?
The gentle cool breeze tinted with the scent of crisp sea salt,
the smell of the wise old oaks.
The sound of the waves crashing,
behind you the wind rushing through the trees.
Do you see it?
