What is this world?

Where we teach about equality, yet spit on those different than us?

What is this world, where people take money made from the blood and tears of so many people and families?

What is this world, where those with too much refuse to help those with too little?

Too little money

Too little food

Too little blood

What is this world, where we accept the beliefs of the loud and famous over those of the quiet and knowledgeable?

What is this world, where people come to us from murder, death, drugs, terrorism, abuse, hatred, and oppression, yet we paint them the monsters?

We scream about how they’re going to kill us, when a bomb wiped out their family

We complain about how they’re stealing their jobs, when they’re barely making enough to survive

We hurt them because their skin is a different tone, their eyes a different shape, their hair a different color

Yet we call them the terrorists?

We call them monsters?

What is this world, where the color of your skin decides whether those that are supposed to protect you, actually protect you?

What is this world, where a busted tail light can kill you?

What is this world, where we put the health of an unborn child before that of the family it’s being born to?

What is this world, where the lives of those who aren’t even born yet are put before those already here?

What is this world, where you can’t even buy a piece of candy because it has plastic in it, but you can buy a weapon that can kill crowds in a few seconds?

What is this world, where those in power care more about their money than the people who put them there?

What is this world, where a different interpretation of a book written by some guys a couple thousand years ago can decide whether your family loves you or not?

What is this world, where your choice of love can determine whether you get that job, make it through school, or be accepted by those around you?

What is this world, where people berate those who care about these problems?

Calling them, “libtards”

Or, “liberal snowflakes”

Or whatever derogatory term they use to actively ignore the pain that their silence is permitting

You’re silence says more than your words ever will

In this world.
