logion Monthly Report: May 2022

Hello community, May was an exciting month for logion! What about a monthly report to help you recap the adventure of the past few weeks?

logion Officially Joins Outlier Ventures’ Polkadot Base Camp Cohort 2

The past month was highlighted by our selection for the Outlier Ventures’ Polkadot Base Camp Cohort 2!

A new achievement for logion joining the famous web3 accelerator program alongside 5 other handpicked projects. The program includes 12 weeks of mentoring supervised by a global network of founders, experts and advisors from leading Web3 protocols and organizations.

logion ‘s road to the parachain project is truly accelerating!

Deployment of a full test environment to prepare logion future parachain status

Even if logion is already operational with a fully functional standalone blockchain and related infrastructure, to be the blockchain infrastructure of safe digital ownership, logion must become a public parachain. Thus it will be able to protect all digital assets — and related transactions through the entire polkadot ecosystem — and beyond — especially with future XCM-compatible environments.

This is logion’s team goal for 2022.

As an important step towards that goal, logion’s development team has been starting the deployment of a full test environment with a test relay chain and a parachain with a new logion related run time.

Once completed, that test environment will be an important technical proof that logion is capable of acting as a true parachain for the benefit of the Polkadot ecosystem.

logion network is now officially powered by an International Non Profit Organization

An important milestone of the logion project has been successfully accomplished with the official registration of the Logion International Non Profit Association (AISBL: Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif) )!

Headquartered in Brussels, at the heart of the European Community, the Logion International Association is dedicated to promoting the development and adoption of the logion network. Before the deployment of the decentralized governance and its on-chain implementation, the Logion AISBL will also provisionally take care of the off-chain governance of the logion network.

The establishment of the Logion AISBL is a strong recognition of the public utility of the logion network, now powered by an international organization granted with the Royal Seal.

Logion Legal Officers on the road to build trusted technological infrastructures

Logion Legal Officers are more committed than ever!

Congratulations to Alain Barland, Logion Legal Officer based in France, who joined the French Federation of Trusted Third Parties (FNTC) as an associate member.

The Federation of Trusted Third Parties (FNTC) brings together a body of professional providers and/or users of digital services including institutions, enterprises as well as technical and legal experts that wish to build trust in digital technology in Europe, Francophone countries and beyond.

A great mission, in a fast growing digital context, that urgently needs to be secured!

For his part, Patrick Gielen, Logion Legal Officer based in Brussels, went to Milan for the International Forum on the digitalization of enforcement proceedings on real estate.

With his triple hat of Belgian Legal Officer, Secretary of the UIHJ (International Union of Judicial Officers) and co-founder of logion, Patrick Gielen outlined the key role of the Legal Officer as a blockchain node operator to secure digital assets & provide safe digital ownership.

A special thanks to Patrick for his faithful commitment to logion development since its inception.

logion takes the podium in Cannes Film Festival

Back in France, the logion team participated at the #EnterTech Pitching session organized by myGlobalVillage at the Cannes Film Festival.

And if we didn’t make it to the red carpet, logion ended up on the podium! Kudos Elie for the 90sec pitch ! 👏🏻

This event has shown how important Web3 is for the movie and, more broadly, the entire entertainment industry. For movie directors, authors, scriptwriters, and producers, protecting your rights is paramount while investigating NFT-supported creation and financing.

Back to school for a multi-chain challenge

Following Alyra, the blockchain school invitation, the logion development team sent three delegates to make Polkadot shine versus two Cosmos blockchain veterans!

Result: one hour of philosophical, technical and strategic sharing with five passionate participants who succeeded to ignore all the gentle provocations of the referee 🤓

Thanks Daniel from Alyra for this great moment! Interoperability definitely breaks down boundaries!
