In July of 2018, there was a summit hosted at MIT, where leading thinkers in all fields, such as entrepreneurs, technologists and visionaries gathered to discuss the next steps in Platform Strategy.

Top issues included the impacts of AI, machine-learning and blockchain-enabled technologies, where attendees learned about the emerging markets and talked about the high demand for talent and the need for diverse hiring.

At LogisticsX, we are a blockchain based company- trying to create a platform where we make it possible for consumers to get their packages 100% of the time, by changing the topography of last mile logistics.

Zooming in on the relevant topic of Blockchains and Platforms, panelists discussed the transformational force blockchain has on existing industries and markets. The panelists came to the unanimous agreement that blockchain is the next big wave in technology, and agreed that it is important to create a viable platform utilizing blockchain to allow it to solve real world problems. Even though it is an emerging technology, it is attracting insane amount of tractions as well as investors and enterprises allowing them to change the platform market.

The main takeaways are that creating a blockchain based business is a platform where problems can be solved, and churn out products that guarantee efficiency and transparency. Blockchain can also reduce friction with transaction among other platforms as well as creating new streams of revenue while also representing a form of payment; mostly in various types of cryptocurrency. Therefore, LogisticsX is building a platform where we are solving the problems of last mile logistics, by ensuring that at all times one is able to locate their package using the decentralized platform.

We have created a platform that changes how we treat our packages and deliveries. The norm is to wait around and check a generic tracking page, but with LogisticsX, everything is more clear cut. But, platforms do not work alone all the time. Big platforms such as Airbnb and Uber use multiple platforms to leverage their business, and there is no better way to do business than collaborating. Platforms allow for connecting with similar businesses and groups- with helps with growth and expansion. Partnering up also expands the talent supply ecosystem- as sometimes, two is better than one.

Here at LogisticsX we love collaboration. We work closely with Park N Parcel to help with the delivering and storing of packages, and we partner with other similar companies across Asia to help get the word out about both companies. We know that there is so much value in partnerships, and we continue to look for other groups of people to work with in the future.

All in all reading through the MIT Platform Strategy Summit we feel pleased and happy with the platform we have built, and are continuing to grow. Platforms makes new business models possible and allows us to make use of talent, and pools skilled people together. We are using the data that we have found on our platform to further improve existing issues and if you are a company interested in working with us, drop us an email!
