Introducing LogisticsX’s First Adopter- Park N Parcel
We would like to introduce Park N Parcel, the first adopter of Logistics X. Based in Singapore, Park N Parcel is a logistics startup that solves the problem of missed delivery with a simple solution. By leveraging on excess retail and residential spaces, Park N Parcel has created a network of ‘Parkers’ in Singapore. These Parkers volunteer to be parcel pick-up and drop-off points for online shoppers, and earn a small fee for every parcel collected. To utilize this service, online shoppers head to their website and choose their desired Parker from a list of locations.
Founder, Bryan See Toh, who quit his job as a stockbroker to start this company, said he got the idea from his girlfriend, who solved the problem of missed parcel delivery by having it delivered to her aunt’s home, who lives 3 blocks away.
“I would miss deliveries because of my busy work schedule, but she (his wife) didn’t have that problem. So I thought there are retirees, students and home business owners that can do parcel collection for passive income.” said Mr See Toh.
That was the seed that planted the idea and now, Park N Parcel has created an impressive network of 1500+ Parkers islandwide. They have also rolled out the first and only Point-to-point delivery option for online retailers in Singapore last November.
“This mall-to-mall delivery leverages on the parker points we have, and allows online shoppers to have the flexibility and convenience when it comes to collecting their parcels. It also enables online retailers to have a form of affordable self-collection for their customers.” he shared.
In March 2018, Park N Parcel raised a S$850,000 seed round investment, led by TRIVE (previously TRi5 Ventures) and a group of angel investors. Using this funding, Park N Parcel intends to expand their mall-to-mall delivery clientele, increase operational efficiency and expand into Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan in Q4 this year.
