When would I use the HDMI ports on the RallyPlus System hubs?

Whenever you need to transmit an HDMI signal from the table hub to the Display Hub through the Cat6 cable that connects the two hubs, use this method.

For example, consider a scenario where a dedicated PC for Teams meetings is positioned beneath a table. This setup traditionally requires the installation of two physical HDMI cables extending from the PC to the display. However, utilizing the Rally System streamlines this process significantly. HDMI connections are made from the PC to the Table Hub and then from the Display Hub to the display.

The system facilitates signal transmission from the Table Hub to the Display Hub via a Cat6a cable, effectively centralizing connectivity and reducing the need for multiple HDMI runs. In other words, the HDMI on the Table hub “passes through” to the display hub.

Notes:

Some people mistakenly believe that the HDMI outputs on the display hub are intended to deliver video from the PC/Laptop via USB and then onto the HDMI outputs. However, this is not true. The HDMI input from the Table hub simply sends the signal to the HDMI output of the display hub.

REGARDING HDMI SIGNALS: Up to one 4K 60fps (YCbCr 4:2:0) on HDMI 1 or two 1080p signals (one at 1080p 60fps and one at 1080p 30fps, which is then upscaled to 60fps) can be carried between the Table Hub and Display Hub. The HDMI signals are a straight pass-through between the hubs.

If a single display is connected and running in 4K resolution on HDMI 1, then HDMI 2 is disabled. To enable HDMI 2 for the second screen, the computer connected to HDMI 1 must be set at 1080p 60fps or lower resolution.
