Today marks the release of the R2 build to the Logos testnet. This is a major development milestone and is the first significant release since the initial launch of the first testnet back in December.

There are several notable achievements included in the R2 release. Most notably among them is token support. Here are some highlights from the R2 release.

Tokens. Logos’s token capability provides a superset of ERC-20 capabilities at the protocol level, making it as easy as possible to release fungible tokens natively on the Logos platform.

The Forge is part of the Logos blockchain explorer that allows anyone to participate in the testnet without any requirements. You can create and send tokens to all of your friends with the speed and scalability that Logos is known for. Try it out!

Epoch Transition. Epoch transition is a major dependency of governance and staking that are actively in development and coming in R3. Epoch transition is the system of handling the hot swapping of delegates in and out of the delegate pool without any downtime.

Logos Mobile Wallet with Token Support

Mobile Application Updates The Logos iOS wallet was also updated to support tokens. If you haven’t already downloaded the wallet you can download the iOS testflight app.

Test infrastructure. We performed functional, boundary case, exhaustive, and stress testing of the network, along with integrity testing of the databases. We will continue expanding the testing methodology going forward.

With R2 now completed we have most core features implemented, with the remainder already being developed and put into place in R3. We’ll continue to release additional features on the testnet for integrations and testing. If you have any questions or just want to be more involved in the Logos development processes join us on discord, twitter, reddit, and telegram!

We will continue to send out development updates going forward. Stay tuned!

Thanks,

Everyone @ Logos
