[LOK] Upcoming Update Preview

Thank you for your patience as we prepare for the upcoming update.

Since this is a major update with many changes, our goal is to deliver an enhanced experience while thoughtfully incorporating your past feedbacks. This article offers a broad preview of what’s to come, so you can get a glimpse of the updates ahead.

The New World Migration (C101–108)

  • All players will be migrated to a newly updated continent built on improved server infrastructure.
  • With more players active within each continent, we are planning several updates, with the biggest being land expansion. Each land tile will grow from 4x4 to 6x6, making the playable area feel more than twice as large.
  • With many alliances on a single continent, you will be able to expand the member capacity through newly added alliance tech.
  • Additional balancing patches will follow based on how the new system develops.

New CVC

  • The format will follow the style of the Conquest War, with 1v1 matchups held every three weeks.
  • Each continent will have its own MMR ranking, which will determine future matchups. To keep the competition fresh, we are also considering rules that prevent facing the same opponent back-to-back.
  • Rewards will be tied to MMR:
    - Each continent will have a set $A2Z reward pool, based on MMR.
    - When two continents clash, their pools will be combined.
    - The winning side takes the full $A2Z pool.
    - Losing side will still receive in-game rewards, and special packs will be offered to help them prepare for their next battle.
  • On Week 3, events will run leading up to the final clash. Players will earn points and rewards not only from the CVC battle itself, but also from preparations and related activities leading into it.

CVC: Rewards & Points

  • One of the biggest concerns from past CVCs was point sniping. To address this, we are rebalancing the point system so that such tactics are no longer efficient. We also want to place greater emphasis on battles around Shrines and Congress, encouraging large-scale clashes over these key objectives.
  • Rewards will now follow a layered structure, similar to a season pass system of other games:
    - Base rewards
    - Activity-based rewards
    - Extended rewards through a Season Pass system
    - Pledging contributions, which will also expand the reward table
  • For the long-term sustainability of LOKU, base rewards themselves will be slightly reduced. However, players will be able to increase their total rewards through this new layered system.
  • Additionally, we are considering allocating a portion of revenue from season passes and other sales into the reward pool, further strengthening the sustainability.

New Player Support & New User Continents

  • To protect new users, new continents (c109+) will be created. Two continents will be added at a time to ensure proper CVC matchups.
  • We are also considering periodic Conquest War to consolidate the continents back to 8.
  • We are also considering different means to protect new continents.
    - Limiting migration power for a set period even after a king is crowned
    - Requiring not just Crystals but also Migration Permits to move into a new continent.
  • Migration Permits are expected to serve multiple purposes, not just for entering new continents, but also for moving into top-tier continents.
  • To further support newcomers, continent-wide buffs and special packages will be added, helping new players settle in and grow more smoothly.

Level Cap Expansion

  • Building level caps will be raised, requiring new resources to progress through higher levels. As part of this, we are considering introducing DST into the resource mix to help revitalize the DST economy.
  • While not included in this immediate update, we are also revisiting DSA pledging and the DSA shop. The goal is to shift these systems so that they encourage active consumption of DSA/DST, rather than simply locking them away.

Pledging

  • We are actively exploring new balancing for pledging.
  • One of the key changes under strong consideration, based on popular community requests, is to adjust pledging buffs so that they raise spawn levels rather than simply increasing their quantities.

Other Updates

  • Magdar will not appear in CVC, but will instead return in a new event designed for broader participation. Other iconic bosses from LOKC may also make appearances in LOK.
  • The 8-Continent CVC will return as a special event, not on a fixed schedule, but as a highlight event for all players to enjoy.
  • In addition, we are planning new skins and graphic updates for both soldiers and monsters, inspired by LOKC, to bring fresh visuals to the battlefield.
