Did you know that London Gaymers has been running for nearly six years now? What started as a small Reddit meet up group has transformed to a thriving community, celebrating and supporting LGBT+ gaymers from not only London, but across the UK and beyond. Somewhere we truly believe is the best place for the LGBT+ gaming community to make new friends.

During that time, our size, our structure, our goals and ambitions have also changed. We physically can’t continue to provide the best possible experience for all 2000 (!!) members without some organisational changes, some involvement from the community and some improvements to the way we run the group. We want to make sure we share these changes with everyone and more importantly gather your ideas and feedback.

We’ve said time and time again that this isn’t our group, this is your group, and it’s important that you have the opportunity to have your say.

That’s why we’re putting on the first ever London Gaymers Town Hall, hosted by your team of admins: Curtis, Justin, Matt & Rafael.

We’ll be sharing our vision for the future of the group;
• Our new 18-month plan and how we plan to achieve it,
• Our commitments to diversity,
• See where your generous Patreon donations go and what your support enables us to do,
• Sharing the results of the Gaymer Survey — what you told us you wanted to see more of,
• Options on choosing your representation,
• What our plans for Pride in London 2018 are,
• And finally, more details on our new Ambassador programme + your opportunity to speak to an admin on how you can get involved with LG.

During the town hall presentation, we’re quite literally passing the microphone to you. Quiz the admins, ask that question you’ve always wanted an answer to, give us your suggestions, feedback and get involved in the conversation.

We’ll respond as best we can to all questions asked to us in person and on social media and online. We’ll also have ways to submit questions and provide feedback anonymously which we will respond to on stage, and interactive tools to provide instant feedback on matters we discuss (so make sure your phone is fully charged!)

We want to break down as many barriers as possible and make this as open and easy as possible to get your voice heard, because we can’t — and don’t want to — do this alone!

We’re also very excited to announce that we’ll be holding our first ever #LGTownHall at the offices of ustwo in the Tea Building in Shoreditch. You might know ustwo from their breakthrough mobile game, Monument Valley. It’s a fantastic space with loads of room for anyone who would like to attend and we’ll have snacks available on the day. (The venue doesn’t have a bar but there is an off license opposite…)

Our first town hall venue! The offices of UsTwo in Shoreditch — just opposite the Overground Station.

Can’t make it to Shoreditch? We’ll be streaming the entire event on our Twitch channel at twitch.tv/londongaymers and monitoring the live chat on Twitch for questions and comments, along with our social channels.

Of course, it’s not all business — and we are London Gaymers after all. Hang around after the Town Hall has finished for an evening of multiplayer gaming! We’ve got consoles and games set up all around the ustwo floor for you to play and enjoy into the evening (or bring your switch for some impromptu Mario Kart!) and we’ll have Jackbox party games on the big screen too.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Tea Building, sharing what exciting plans we have for you, and listening to what you want to see from your favourite LGBT+ gaming community.

Hope to see you all there!
