Two years ago through Dell’s relationship with their Social Good Advocate Adrian Grenier, Dell became aware of the challenges facing the oceans. As a consumer of plastic, Dell identified ocean plastic as an issue where Dell could have a meaningful contribution.

Last week, at the UN’s first ever Ocean Summit, Dell’s contribution was greater realized through a partnership with Lonely Whale Foundation and the United Nations Environment Program. Through this partnership, Dell brought the Cry Out: The Lonely Whale Experience to the UN Ocean Summit as part of the UNEP’s Clean Seas campaign.

The UN Environment’s Clean Seas campaign is a global movement that harnesses the power of people, governments and businesses to highlight the problem of marine litter and tackle it decisively. Over the next five years, the UN Environment will address the root-cause of marine litter by targeting the production and consumption of non-recoverable and single-use plastic. To do this effectively, we need citizens to be aware, engaged and active in addressing the problem in their own lives and beyond.

At last week’s summit alone, 5 new governments joined the Clean Seas campaign and over 22 officials experienced the exhibit.
