At SXSW’17, we launched #StopSucking — a national campaign aimed to create a movement to put an end to the single use plastic straw.

Our goal? Keep plastics out of the ocean.

To draw attention to ocean-bound plastic pollution, we created an experience called SUCKER PUNCH. With the use of a high speed camera, we captured super slow motion video of people (including Adrian Grenier, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Elizabeth Gore, and Brooklyn Decker) as the plastic straw is slapped right out of their mouth with a giant octopus tentacle.

On March 12, SUCKER PUNCH rocked Mashable House. On March 18, artists at Rachael Ray’s FEEDBACK took on the tentacle at Stubb’s BBQ.

Now it’s your turn.

Take the pledge to #StopSucking, then challenge your friends and followers to join the movement.

Support our ocean, donate to Lonely Whale Foundation.
