Mental Health has a big role to play in where and how we end up in life and it falls upon us to take care of our mental health. The goal is to keep moving forward, with everything we do.
As individuals, all of us at some point in our life find ourselves in situations that make us question the things around us.
For many of us, it is everything that we have believed in thus far, including deep thought questions like, “Who am I?” and “Why am I here?”
We get into a thought process where it becomes a constant cycle and sometimes we feel lost, about what it is we are doing and where we are going.
This feeling lost leads to frustration and anxiety that can be debilitating if not dealt with.
Asking yourself questions can be a good thing, provided you are asking the right questions.
Here are 5 telltale signs, that you are moving forward in life.
You give more emphasis to what you enjoy doing than what others think you need to be doing.
When you start doing the work that you enjoy, you get into a state called flow, where work becomes effortless. You enjoy it, and you feel like you have achieved something after you are done with it.
You wake up each morning with the feeling of wanting to get back at it and you cannot wait to get going.
Irrespective of what others think of it. This happens when you tap into your core, you find out what you enjoy and you keep going at it on a daily basis. Pretty soon the things which you thought you needed to be doing take a back seat and you give them lesser time.
Here is where your worries decimate, the things you were doing earlier most probably were the source of your worry, and the lesser time you give them, the lesser you worry.
Your circle has become smaller.
As you start to realize things, whatever they may be, You will notice that the people who surround you start reducing.
This happens, because you are no longer conforming to their idea about what the right thing to do is.
And that is a good thing because we are all individuals, we are all unique and we are meant to stand out. What one person might enjoy might be a chore for another.
When your circle starts to reduce, you realize what energies you had dominating your life and you automatically become more aware of who you want to surround yourself with.
Things that used to stress you out earlier do not anymore.
I remember I would get stressed out about stupid shit.
I have spent entire days worrying about things that did not even matter or which never actually happened.
For example, I used to suffer from road rage and I would go ballistic on anyone who would dare cross me, even unintentionally.
When you start to take measures to control your feelings you automatically start to notice how stupid all that was and a feeling of empathy sets in. With yourself and towards others.
You start to understand that it is not worth it and the more you understand it the better it gets.
You focus on doing only a few things but doing them better.
There was a time I had a packed schedule. If I was not being productive all the time, I was not bringing it.
Here is what happened, I got nowhere.
Pretty soon, my body gave way and I realized something in me had to change.
I started looking at things differently.
Out of the 25 things I used to pack in my day earlier, I now do just the 5 most important ones ( Thanks Warren Buffet ) and I find I actually get a lot more done because I am doing what really matters and I am doing it better.
You notice that you feel a lot better.
You notice that you generally FEEL a lot better than you used to. You realize that there is no rush, you have time.
I was the kind of person who would want everything to happen yesterday. That can never work, you need to understand how the universe and nature work.
When you plant a seed, you don’t get a tree the next day. It takes its own time and you have to nurture it, and that is what many of us fail to understand.
When we get excited about something, we need to nurture that thought, put in the work, and give time for the magic to happen.
When you start to understand this, you notice that you start to feel a lot better and that is what the whole point is really.
As humans, we will always need validation in everything we do and we tend to look outside of ourselves for validation. When we actually look within ourselves, we realize exactly what we need to and start moving towards that.
Success as defined by Earl Nightingale is, “A person is successful If they know where they are and they know where they’re going and are progressively moving in that direction.”

You create you. Remember that, and taking constant baby steps towards the direction that you want to go will also get you there.
