Lending Money Is a Good Thing but You Should Know Where to Draw the Line

My worst investment so far is to lend money to friends. So far, it has all come to zero — Marc Faber

See the man watering and harvesting money from his money plant?

He has plants and shrubs in his garden that grow money. That means he has money and a lot of it.

Now coming to us.

Do we have any plants or shrubs at our house that could make us rich? Of course, we would love to, but the answer still remains the same —

NO.

Which means we have to be careful with the money we have. If not managed properly, we can face serious consequences in the future.

I too had lent money in 2020, to a senior and a respected figure. Someone, who had a good reputation in society. But I had no idea, he would not even bother to acknowledge the fact that he had borrowed money from me, and that too twice.

Every time I asked for my money back, he started crying his woes. How his mother was ill, and he was struggling to meet her medical expenses. Now, when it comes to mothers, we fall weak in our intentions. I was no different.
