This is advice from a friend for a guided meditation and journaling activity. Explore these prompts while sitting and meditating, and then journaling briefly following your sit. It’s a practice in self awareness and might help orient some guidance for the day. Start with a 5 minute meditation and ask yourself these questions:

Cognitions: List out how your mind is working that morning. What is on your mind? How is moving (fast, slow, foggy)? What kind of thoughts are coming up?

Emotions: What emotions are you feeling? Try to be specific and if you can identify what is catalyzing each emotion, you can write that as well.

Sensations: What sensations are present in the body? Pay particular attention to your head, heart, throat, chest, and stomach. Try to be descriptive.

Intention: Taking in mind how you feel that day, set a simple intention for yourself.
