Well that was a wild year. Instead of looking back on all the crazy events of 2016 with a negative eye, I propose a new solution: let’s learn from it.

Not the politics, the celebrity drama, or even the sports (even though Game 7 of the World Series and NBA Finals were some of the best games of all time) … let’s learn from the most stunning, attention grabbing, head scratching new visual identities that came to life in 2016.

Whether you are a designer, marketer, techie, or just my friends/family curious what this new project I’ve been working on is all about (hey mom) there is something to be learned from each of these rebrands. By examining the new visual identities launched by these 10 companies it will provide insight how to create, criticize, analyze, and promote good design in 2017 and beyond.

The write ups get long as I explore each of these companies new visual identities and the design decisions made along the way. There will be plenty more posts to come so follow along on social media or bookmark the Look & Logo publication to read more as 2017 holds many new identities, advertising, and products in store.

*It is important to note that this is not a list of the best rebrands of 2016, however this is an in-depth look at 10 of the most influential new identities that showcase where different industries are heading, design trends that are growing, and modern challenges brands are facing.*
