Fence windows

Items used: square metal garden decor, a few pieces of wood, screws, a drill, router and sawzall.

We had a chain-link fence. When we replaced it with a nice wood fence, our dogs were bummed. They could no longer see out. So we bought six pieces of square metal garden art from our local craft store and added six fence windows - one for every other fence panel.

The thickness of the square metal garden art was a bit smaller than the thickness of the fence boards. We hung them on the fence where we wanted to put them and traced around the squares with a pencil. Using a sawzall, we followed our pencil lines and cut holes in the fence.

We cut eight pieces of 2"wide wood per window to frame them out on each side. We used a router to cut clean angled edges, screwed them in, and VOILA! the dogs could see out again.
