A couple of friends and I hacked together this project for a hackathon. We’re really excited about WebRTC technologies so we put together a simple tool that helps programmers collaborate with each other in real time.

It’s called Seshcode, and it’s a simple tool for coders. You log in with GitHub and create a new session. Once you’re in a session, you get a unique URL that you can share with anyone. When someone joins your session, they do not need to be logged in with GitHub.

The features:

  1. shared code editor
  2. video chat
  3. instant message
  4. GitHub integration
inside a “sesh”

It has some light GitHub integration too. After logging in, you can save private gists from the session to your GitHub account. You can then keep posting updates or commits to that gist.

A few of us are starting to use it for remote pair programming and phone screening developers. I think this tool is pretty cool, what do you think? Try it out.

Shout out to @mattnish, @jpterry and @charlesbuhler we all hacked on it together.
