Many of you have been anxiously awaiting news on the Loom SDK launch coming in June — over 300+ companies have requested to join our beta program so far.

Our team has been working without food, sleep, and sunlight (but lots of coffee ☕😳) hustling to get it ready.

And as part of our ethos of continuously shipping products, we’ve decided to do a hackathon at the end of May, prior to our official launch, in order to get feedback on the SDK from real users. (After all, no simulated testing or TPS benchmarks can replace cold, hard feedback from real users in the real world).

So we’re extremely pleased to invite all of you to attend our first official hackathon, co-hosted by our partner GameWith, in beautiful Tokyo on May 26th.

GameWith is one of Japan’s largest game media sites, with over 800 million monthly page views.

Event Details

  • Date: May 26th (Saturday) 10:00–20:30
  • Place: GameWith office (Roppongi Hills 20F), Tokyo
  • Participants: 30 people (split into 10 groups)

In this event, you will be given an open-sourced game that’s already integrated with the Loom SDK (The Adventures of Etherboy in Blockchain World) and a pre-release version of the SDK itself.

At the end of the event, you’ll be judged by a panel from both Loom Network and GameWith, and the finalists will win exciting prizes as well as an opportunity to be hired by Loom Network or GameWith (full-time or part-time).

You get to code inside Roppongi Hills Tower — one of the most famous landmarks in Tokyo!

Conditions to apply

  • Experience with Unity development (experienced app developers only)
  • Interest in building apps on Blockchain or Ethereum (technical knowledge not required — members from Loom network will be at the event to help you through building your first DApp)
  • Mac OS or Linux laptop

How to apply

Please send a portfolio to team@loomx.io with the subject “Tokyo Hackathon”.

The due date for the applications is May 18th. You can still apply past the due date, but there won’t be any guaranteed spots left.
