We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Protocol: Gemini to bring their immersive Web3 games to Ethereum L2.

Loopring is a secure compression machine that hyper-scales Ethereum applications reducing costs per transaction to as little as 1/100th of Layer 1. Loopring’s zkRollup and novel counterfactual NFTs, allow for gas-free NFT minting and trading while preserving Ethereum-level security, making it a perfect fit for gaming. This has attracted exciting projects like Protocol: Gemini to Loopring.

Protocol: Gemini is a cutting-edge development studio that blends blockchain, augmented reality, and metaverses to create engaging experiences. They are committed to advancing Web 3.0 principles, values, and methods by constructing interoperable metaverses. Their mission is to enable users to build infrastructure, community, and experiences without limitations by linking decentralized, cryptographically secure cyberspaces to the real-time environment.

Protocol: Gemini is creating a collection of in-house developed games, some of which utilize their Metagate technology. Threaded into the fabric of each game is the desire to create experiences that promote critical thinking and elicit wonder. All of these upcoming projects will be built on Loopring, and Protocol: Gemini can’t wait to show you more when the time comes!

One of the games they are building, in collaboration with PuzzleGang, is ATTLG 2.0, the sequel to their short viral ARG ‘And Through The Looking Glass’. The game is a puzzle-heavy and interactive experience designed to challenge players’ problem-solving skills. It has been under development for approximately four months. Additionally, Protocol: Gemini will be releasing several other games on Loopring, but details have not been made public yet.

“After our initial conversation with Brenden, it was clear that Loopring and Protocol: Gemini shared common goals — a primary one being to build an infrastructure that empowers its users. We couldn’t be more excited to bring both their vision and games to Ethereum L2.” — Chris (blank), Loopring

The decision to build on Loopring was easy:

“We decided to build on Loopring because it has Ethereum-level security at a fraction of the cost, while having blazing fast transaction speeds; all the while providing a seamless experience to the users. This makes it the ideal technology to build our games and applications on.” - Adriann Torres, Protocol: Gemini

Protocol: Gemini was founded by Brenden Dearie, who is also the co-founder of CyberCrew. Helping run the company are Robert May (Chief Operating Officer) and Adriann Torres (Chief Marketing Officer), both of which co-founded PuzzleGang. They recently hired Ryan Kagy as the President of Blockchain and Community. To learn more about Protocol: Gemini and their projects, read the Blackpaper. Join their growing community on Discord.

As Loopring continues to grow and evolve from its origins as a decentralized exchange protocol, zkRollup, and smart contract wallet, it was only natural for the protocol to take the next step and venture into gaming. With a solid foundation already in place, game developers can now easily access our user-friendly APIs without the need to write complex smart contracts. This marks a significant and exciting new chapter for Loopring as we move forward in this field.

If you are developing a game, we’d love to talk. You can find us on our Discord channel, or drop us a line at foundation@loopring.org.
