Maena first started her blogging whilst she was studying for her Bachelor of Science in Radiology. She always had a keen interest in medicine and loves to mix this passion with her love for beauty. She is a trained Beauty therapist and specialist in Massage and Clinical treatments. Since then she now has her own beauty Salon in the heart of London.

And during her free time she loves to film makeup tutorials, product reviews, DIY’S and her travel Vlogs.

She aims to just be herself and just share the things she loves and learns from everyday life. Just your average girl living an average life with tips and tricks to share.

How were you inspired to begin your channel? Where did you start?

I started about a year ago, a lot of my friends, family and clients kept on asking me how I do certain things like my eyeliner or whats my facial routine, or just general salon standard tips. So literally one day I just thought why not film it and start a blog. It all really started off as fun and as a passing time hobby but Its a part of my daily life now. I love it!

What inspires you and keeps you moving forward? Why are you passionate about it?

I don’s specifically look for any inspirations, I just share what I happen to come across in my day to day life. But I can say the positive vibes I get from my viewers is what really motivates me to keep blogging and keeps me passionate about pushing my channel. I love the fact that people feel comfortable either emailing or messaging me for beauty regime tips and advise.

What’s your favorite aspect of the beauty & cosmetics industry?

My favorite aspect is that make up and fashion is a great way that people can express themselves, try the latest trends and just really get creative with makeup different looks. Its all about finding yourself, be that with minimal makeup or looking like a catwalk model everyday. Do what makes you full of confidence and wear what defines you.

Btw I am loving the whole bohemian looks at the moment, soft, subtle yet still sassy.

What makes your brand unique from other beauty channels?

To be honest there are many great beauty channels out there with millions of subscribers, who promote and use the top range products, but they all tend to be a little repetitive and bombarded with overpriced products.

I like to blog for the everyday average person and to just really be myself.

How do you organize/plan out your content?

Running a Salon and blogging does take its toll on me. But I do aim to post something at least twice a month. I admit i’m quite terrible at this but i’m just spontaneous. Some months I get overexcited with things to film and then no time to edit the videos. But I am trying to make a routine and aim to post a lot more regularly.

What is your goal for your channel? Dreams?

I don’t really have a set goal of subscribers or dreams but just to take life where it goes. I have never really aimed to get fame, money or recognition from my channel but if my fan-base grows and the popularity increases it would be a good platform for me to be able to help people gain confidence and to become an approachable person to give advice.

But even now if my videos help even a handful of people out there by giving them a glimpse of my life or by sharing my personnel beauty tips and DIY’s that’s a goal good enough for me.

Do you have any tips for others trying to break into the beauty industry?

I would say just be yourself. And I bet 99% of bloggers would say the same. But it really is the key to it. You are unique and that’s whats going to make your followers want to see more of you!!!. If you just mimic all the others out there then there’s nothing special. And don’t give up! Everywhere you go there’s always going to be some people who will try to throw their negative energy on to you, just keep your head held high and do what makes you happy. We all have to start somewhere and its not easy but definitely worth it.

What are your favorite beauty products or your go-to skincare regimen?

Currently I am using a lot of the ELEMIS beauty products range. I think they’re fab and love that its not tested on animals.

Once a month I have regular microdermabrasion facials, to give my skin that deep exfoliation but regular steaming and extractions also help. I use the clay based dead sea mud mask by Amara Organics (also vegan and cruelty free) once a week.

And regular facial massages to get all those toxins drained are a must do! Most people just spread on moisturizer but it should really be massaged in.

“You are unique and that’s whats going to make your followers want to see more of you!”

What products are you currently using on a daily basis?

I simply love the ELEMIS pro-collagen cleansing balm! This smells absolutely divine!

Always try to use SPF moisturizer to prevent sun damage during the day and use the ELEMIS pro-collagen oxygenating night cream.

I use the Body Shop Oils Of Life facial oil for my facial massage. Its great and doesn’t leave that sticky greasiness. Perfect to boost up those vitamins for night time.

What’s your personal style?

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I would sum up my style as a “in the moment dresser” I don’t have a specific style, some days its Ralph Lauren, French Connection or Armani Jeans and other days Zara, H&M, River Island, ASOS, even Primark is awesome! BUT i’m a total lounger! Any chance to stick on my PJ’s and roam around in comfort. I really don’t think style can be defined by its price tag.

Not a huge designers person. I just look at the item, if its nice its nice! Simple…. I do love to splash out on branded shoes though! Hey we all have one guilty pleasure.

How does your personal style influence your branding?

Style to me is what makes you feel comfortable and a way to express yourself. I don’t feel the need to ever wear anything just to show off. It really isn’t about the price tag for me. If its cheap, cheerful and looks great….I LOVE IT even more! Its just got to feel right when I wear it. I’m just your average girl who loves to share the average stuff life brings forth.
