Featuring: Passionate Vlogger Aviella Winder
Aviella is 18 years old and resides in Orange County. She moved to California from Rochester, NY to pursue her passion and career in music. She is a singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist, and performs a solo singing and guitar show since the age of 8. Aviella has performed at The Madison Square Garden, House of Blues in Hollywood, The New York and California State Fairs, and numerous Festivals and events throughout each year. Aviella has an international growing fan base of over 4 million viewers on her youtube channel and website @ www.aviellawinder.com. Aviella is currently a music teacher for K-8th grade students and also attends College to pursue her music education and degree. Prior to her move to California, she was honored to receive a DAY named after her in NY for her involvement with fundraisers, as well as raising & donating her time and money to several organizations through the use of her musical talents. Aviella is passionate about life, music, and helping to make this world a better place!
How were you inspired to begin your channel? Where did you start?
I was inspired to begin my channel when I was really young (8 years old, I am now 18), because of my love for music- I thought YouTube would be the perfect place to share my passion with others and to gain a fanbase!
I started when I began uploading simple videos of myself performing my singing/guitar solo show around Upstate New York. Due to lots of requests, my channel has grown for beauty, cooking, and fashion, as well as for music.
What inspires you and keeps you moving forward? Why are you passionate about it?
I continue to be inspired by my fans who always request my original music, cover songs, and tutorials. I’m so driven by others…actually one of my favorite things to do is to search various beauty tutorials and different looks on YouTube. I think it’s so fun how everyone has a unique style! I’m also driven by different aspects in my personal life such as volunteering! It makes me feel so good to help others. I’m a Junior Ambassador and active member of the Soldiers’ Angels Organization. I am also Founder and Coordinator of a chapter of a program in California called “Do The Right Thing.” This program recognizes and awards children in the community for displaying exemplary behavior. I’m so inspired by the great things that I see others do.
I’m extremely passionate about my channel because I love what I do, and I love to interact with my fans! I always enjoy reading comments and answering questions about style, beauty, and music. I’m super open to new ideas and collaborations!
What’s your favorite aspect of the beauty & cosmetics industry?
My favorite aspect of the beauty & cosmetics industry is that I can really be myself! I love to mix and match with clothing and makeup. Switching things up makes life exciting! I’ve learned to be confident with just being me…I love to, for example, be able to have purple hair one day and change it up as a blonde the next (I get all of my wigs from Pauls Products). Pattern mixing is also one of my favorite things to do lately- LuLaRoe is known for bright colors and bold patterns which I’m having a great time experimenting with (Shoutout to LuLaRoe By Bina) :-). I also love bling, and I wear my custom rhinestone apparel when I’m out and about (Girls Play Too, you rock!). As far as accessories, I love statement pieces. I’ve been really into hamsas, stars, the moon, and the sun! I wear lots of silver. I like to layer, whether its necklaces, rings, or bracelets- it keeps my wardrobe interesting. I wear my Pura Vida Bracelets all the time- stacking is super fun! If I’m in the mood to wear just one bracelet I can do that too…so many choices! I love trying new things. What makes your brand unique from other beauty channels?
My brand is different from other beauty channels because I have lots of different things to offer! It’s an “all in one” kinda thing…if you’re in the mood for some tunes, come on over to my page; if you’d like makeup tips, join me for that too; if you’re really wanting a quick milkshake recipe that’s healthy and all natural (grab some Halo Top ice cream), I got your back! Lol :-)
How do you organize/plan out your content?
In regards to organizing my channel, I post my content in a specific way. I try not to post two tutorials in a row, or more than one slow song in a row, for example. I like to alternate between cover videos and original songs. I like to change up how I post so that it brings a different audience for each video.
What is your goal for your channel? Dreams?
My goal for my channel is to continue growing! I am now collaborating with amazing brands who I completely stand behind. That’s definitely been a good way to connect with my fans! I’d love to continue my collaborations and to also continue sharing my music with the world!
Who are your typical followers? How would you describe them?
My typical followers are very dedicated! It’s so cool to me that I have fans who have been with me since the very beginning. My international fanbase is continuing to grow and I’m so thankful. I record most of my videos with no editing, so I really appreciate those who also have an appreciation for these types of videos. I produce my own music in my “bedroom studio” and put a ton of time into my craft. It’s what I love!
Do you have any tips for others trying to break into the beauty industry?
The tips I have for anyone who is an aspiring beauty guru, is to never give up, and to practice a LOT! Practice really does make perfect, I’m still always perfecting what I do. I learn new things each day. This goes for anything…you really never know where life will take you and it’s super important to pursue the things that you love. It’s a lot of time and effort, but the results are so worth it. Each day I set goals for myself and always strive to be the best I can be! The saying is so true, “if you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life!”
What are your favorite beauty products or your go-to skincare regimen?
DEFINITELY Gladiator Soaps. I don’t know what I’d do without. Honestly best soap ever! I also use Neutrogina makeup wipes and sunscreen. Keeps my skin moisturized :-) I love Ahava Dead Sea lotions and mud masks, and anything Lush has been a fave of mine lately, too.
What products are you currently using on a daily basis?
Currently, I’m using all Bare Minerals. All natural makeup is the way to go!
What’s your personal style?
My personal style includes a lot of creativity. I’m big into cutting leggings to give them more “style,” and doing lots of DIY fashion. For example, I made a pair of leggings into a crop top, and a cardigan into a super cute tie-in-back shirt. It’s exciting when people compliment my outfits and I can tell them that I made the style myself! My personal style is also shopping at thrift stores. Goodwill is my go-to and shopping outside the box is one of my favorite things to do. Unique clothes make my closet super fun and trendy!
How does your personal style influence your branding?
My personal style influences my branding to the max because I like to stand out! Bright and crazy colored hair is definitely what I’m known for lately!
