Always Visiting
It’s time to go
I’m dancing in the basement again
The same way I did when I was
Filled with teenage dreams
Hormones overflowing, threatening
I watch the fantasy play out
Behind the bars of my imagination
Where it belongs
A shade darker than vanilla
I despise this reality’s color
So I change it from the inside
Turning the light switch on and
Having conversations with my showerhead
Outside there’s nothing but
People pretending to enjoy
The taste of vanilla
Acting like they’re still alive
But all I see are zombies
Dead behind the eyes
Rotting flesh dispersing as each lie
Leaves their mouths
So it’s time to close my mind
And go back to the start
I can make this place
Whatever I want
