Arbitrage
A Poem
Arbitrage is a delicate combination
that forms a subtle agreement
where both parties benefit
based on a difference between
markets and prices, and how well
one party can negotiate
So maybe life is all arbitrage
where that car that missed you
because they were missed
earlier on a different road
because they were tied up
this morning by their kid
who wanted three braids
instead of the usual two
and the other person
had two cups of coffee
so was more alert
creating this life arbitrage
I wonder if relationships
are really arbitrage disguised
as arguments and feelings
when it could just be seen as
a way to take advantage of
each moment to find a win-win,
although now this relationship
sounds like a business deal
where the word synergy will
be used, and this makes it
highly impersonal, but
oddly attractive
