I’ll repeat you sliding towards me
when you’ve long since forgotten
to look through the ladder rungs
to see if I’m waiting
I’ll watch from this spot
where you parted seaweed,
past the sandbar
to feel singularity
I’ll keep the brine of your dreams,
when the world dilutes you
with chlorine
like the pool at the beach
When the pool has closed
and the ocean is cold
I’ll wade in the spot
where you tasted the sea
At the pool by the beach
I repeat waiting for you
at the bottom of the slide
like a loop in time,
breeze takes the leaves
