Cover Me In April

A Poem

cover me in April
scatter her apple blossom dress with your breath
flesh her thin stalks to my limbs

let us fall into her rhythm
of life of death
of life

take me in April
fill my veins with her sap
bring me alive in the gasp of her rain

how will I breathe when she leaves
