A free-verse poem

century clawfoot grips
hill carved stark,
a fulcrum of riverbed
traipsed by bridge,

the vascular brace
for sponged city grit
— industry arteries
and sirens undertow —
deepens the view
in dew clad moss
and silt-soaked roots,
