Inside the igloo

I am thawing.
This shell
Made of ice
Getting
Punctured.
Air
Slipping through
Warm
Warmer
Warming
The ice.

Tears
Frozen in time.
Letters
Written on walls
Long ago
Before
The ice age.
The cold walls
Protecting
My heart.

Now -
Warmth.
Slow
Alien
Penetrating
Warmth.

A fire -
Beneath
The thick
Hard
Ice.
The fire
That knows no
Language
That feels no
Fear.

Ice protecting fire.
Warmth melting ice.
Who will I become
When the ice is gone
And I am faced
With fire?
