It Vanishes

Hold me in your deep blue
Layers of warm and cool
I’m floating in nothing and everything
The problems of yesterday
Buried in your weeds

The shore lingers
In the corner of my eye
But I keep looking at the sky
I can see what I want to see
Feel what I want to feel

There are no clouds for miles
Held by your far-reaching grip
Drifting as the tide pulls
Ever so lightly
Light enough to forget

Before I can blink
I’ve surrendered
Everything I once loved

And the whirling wind
As the shore vanishes
