Tiny words, loose words
spin like sun dimes
across a stage of our tongues

Letters cut out of each other
patched back together
with glue and sap

We get dirty
you and me,
messing about with verse
tossing sentences
catching them in our mouths

Our minds wild, open
buzzing poetry
flinging it high
petals in the breeze

It falls where it will
in our eyes
our silence

across our thighs
our bellies
our skies

Dries in the sun

Our birth of words
Our offering to the universe.
