Mark of Freedom

A poem on recognizing our perfect imprint in this world.

Mark of freedom:
soft gaze
eyes lines smiling,
skin around mouth
like topaz in sunlight
reaching upward toward sky.

Be this free
sacred alchemy
that is often unrecognized
yet still shines forth,
from which all things spring
even right here, now.

Feel this:
life’s ocean
swirling in every molecule
forming body’s perfect imprint
in this moment
freedom found
what is given

Do not go quietly
into the next form –
instead, bear dancing molecules,
offered as a gift in both living,
and parting
into that great split of matter
some call death,
but rather be set free
spiraling this heart into Love.
