Moon Petals

A poem of passion

moon flowers drop petals
to the weary grass below
stretching off chicken scratches
in the silver lunar glow

sucking clays fill
their swelling finger gaps
with a gentle hyphae tilt
beneath a sheet of broken time

turning autumn leaves of colour
into fodder for the fruit
wending worms take their turns
to aid abetting roots

drunken on the ferment
honeyed mead and lilac wine
moonbeams grace a sated landscape
of a firmament sublime
